They say, "good things take time, better things take a little longer." Coffee Lab has thankfully been in the works for 5 years.  We say thankfully because it took 5 years of design delays, a pandemic, and brainstorming to arrive where we did. Had we gone with a snap decision in 2019 you would be visiting another chain coffee shop without the drink versatility, selection, and freedom to run the business as we see most beneficial to the community. Not to mention, our favorite part, the dog park, would never have come about. Go back even further and it was almost decided to put up a specialty food store, gun shop, or frozen yogurt/soft serve shop.

So a little about Carl and Nick Knutson.  Carl was born and raised in Valders, Wisconsin in 1949, and spent his entire life in the great state. For the past 50 years he has been a general contractor going under the psuedonym Mr. Builder

Located in the most charming town in America, Manitowoc, WI, Coffee Lab was born from the idea of being nostalgic for a time and place that doesn't seem to exist anymore in the modern era. As a father and son duo, we wanted a place that felt like a warm hug and left you feeling like life's simple pleasures of yummy drinks, yummy treats, cute pups and warm friendly faces, are actually what life is all about. These little things that make up all the small moments of our lives end up being the big things when we look back.

Having a place you can always rely on to be welcoming and friendly in the midst of life's chaos is our ultimate goal. We want to provide the convenience of quick and easy access, but also be there when you need to unwind and reset. Bring the puppies to play, grab a yummy treat and drink, and enjoy a place that feels like family. We aren't in the coffee business, we are in the business of community and creating an atmosphere that celebrates life's simple joys. We all long for the simpler times when life felt slower, more connected, and more meaningful; let us help you get there.
